Dr. Cohen is a board-certified Optometrist who graduated in 1993 in South Africa where he practiced for 5 years and was part owner of a large retail optometric chain. He then moved to Boston, MA in 1997 to complete his Advanced Standing International Program and graduated again from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. He currently sits on the Board of Directors at Prevent Blindness Georgia.
Since moving to Atlanta in 1999, he has grown his practices, which began in 2002, in the heart of Atlanta and opened a second location in 2011 in Brookhaven.
He specializes in ocular disease and custom contact lenses and practices medical optometry at the highest level. All his practices have state-of-the-art ophthalmic imaging technology to maximize the early diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts.
He works closely with primary care physicians to ensure a complete, and multidisciplinary approach to eye care.His location is well known for high-end optical retail and he has secured exclusive frame brands together with superior quality optical lenses. He has been a consultant to Ciba Vision, Bausch and Lomb, Synergeyes, and WAVE contact lens companies, and his practices are currently involved in clinical trials for the latest contact lens designs.
He is a regular lecturer at the annual Vision By Design specialty contact lens meetings. He is currently one of the few eye doctors in the country who successfully fits overnight corrective lenses for hyperopia/presbyopia and myopia control and lectures on this topic extensively.
He has regularly been asked to appear on local TV stations to explain new technology with regards to eye equipment or contact lens fitting techniques.
He lives in Atlanta with his wife and 3 children. Hobbies include wildlife photography, boating, fishing, and golf.
